Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • 3+ years relevant experience required
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the operating environment, business processes and procedures, and transaction lifecycle for own area
  • Requires working professional level knowledge of the functional area and/or business areas supported
  • Organized self-starter with excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management skills
  • Detail oriented, high level of accuracy and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Excellent customer orientation, interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with all levels of staff

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with medium to large size multi-corp./multi state business payroll tax matters, >3k employees
  • Familiar with Workday
  • Familiar with ADP Smart Compliance, Master Tax or other tax managed vendor services
  • Experience in Excel, including familiarity in doing pivot tables, v look ups

Responsibilities

  • Work through the process of quarterly and periodic payroll tax filings.
  • Expect an increase in workload around year-end payroll tax activities, including annual reconciliations, W-2 processing, and tax reporting requirements.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax issues with state and federal agencies.
  • Manage powers of attorney (POAs).
  • Process refund checks.
  • Coordinate payroll tax registrations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage reciprocity tax matters.
  • Handle W-2C corrections.
  • Manage ServiceNow tickets.
  • Address employee tax-related inquiries.
  • Review payroll tax data for accuracy, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Monitor agency notices.
  • Maintain documentation.
  • Support audit requests.
  • Collaborate closely with Payroll Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and external agencies to ensure timely and accurate payroll tax processing, compliance, and issue resolution.
