About The Position

GenScript is seeking a Full-Time HR Payroll Tax Intern to support payroll tax tasks. This role is based onsite in Piscataway, NJ and is expected to last for a duration of 6 - 12 months. The pay-rate is $25 per hour. The schedule is Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM with 4 days onsite. We provide complimentary lunch for onsite staff.

Requirements

Fast learner with ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Able to attend to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Self-driven individual and able to work independently

Nice To Haves

Mandarin Chinese speaker is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local payroll tax filings
Support reconciliation of payroll tax liabilities against payroll registers and general ledger accounts
Help monitor multi-state tax registrations, and assist in tracking and applying updates to state/local tax rates, wage bases, and jurisdictional requirements
Assist with quarterly and annual payroll tax reconciliations
Help identify and troubleshoot payroll tax discrepancies or notices from tax agencies
Any other projects and ad-hoc duties that may be assigned
