About The Position

The Employee Support Team Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of payroll support specialists and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. Your primary focus will be on supervising the team, providing guidance and support, resolving complex payroll issues and identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement, ensuring a positive employee experience, assisting operational and support departments to address payroll issues, and continuously improving processes to enhance employee satisfaction and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in payroll administration, with a strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of payroll software, systems, and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze payroll data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of payroll support specialists, providing clear direction, coaching, and feedback.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and assist in career development plans for team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and individual growth.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll-related inquiries and issues raised by employees or team members.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as HR and finance, to address payroll-related concerns and implement process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes, systems, and tools to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence and proactively address any changes or potential risks.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the team and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to educate employees on payroll-related processes, systems, and self-service tools.
  • Communicate payroll-related updates, changes, and reminders to employees effectively, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving payroll-related issues in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Generate payroll reports and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on payroll metrics, team performance, and process efficiency to management and stakeholders.
  • Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
