About The Position

NaphCare is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist to join its Talent Acquisition team onsite at the corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, the position is responsible for accurately and promptly processing and distributing payroll for assigned departments and sites. The specialist ensures wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions are calculated in accordance with government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of previous payroll-processing experience, preferably with ADP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong knowledge of payroll best practices.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience working for a large company and processing high volumes of payroll.
• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Workforce Manager (WFMgr).

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Calculate, issue, and record adjustments to pay related to retroactive changes.
• Audit new-hire paperwork, including tax withholding forms and direct deposit information, for accuracy.
• Scan and file payroll documents such as wage garnishments, tax withholding forms, and direct deposit forms.
• Process and maintain payroll-related staff changes, including hires, terminations, class changes, pay changes, and transfers.
• Respond to and resolve inquiries regarding paychecks.
• Use ADP Reporting to provide data quickly and accurately from the payroll system.
• Act as a backup for coworkers.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
