Atlantis University is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our Financial Services team. Key Objectives Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employees in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations. Support payroll reporting and audits to uphold data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing, preferably within the financial services or education sector.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule.
Calculate wages, benefits, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related items.
Maintain payroll databases, records, and reports ensuring confidentiality and security of employee information.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
Coordinate with HR to update payroll information related to new hires, terminations, salary changes, and leave of absence.
Prepare and submit payroll tax payments and reports.
Assist in year-end payroll activities including W-2 and 1099 processing.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and implement best practices.
