About The Position

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the timely payroll process for semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and internal company policies. Assisting with general accounting and HR duties.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Strong ability to prioritize deadlines and manage sense of urgency escalation.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. unassisted.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience with payroll functions including preparation, reconciling, internal control, and payroll tax.
  • At least 2 years of related experience with ADP Workforce is required.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite, including Word and Microsoft Teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen
  • To conform to U.S. Government International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems, Deltek Costpoint is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with all employees and provide quality customer service while resolving issues.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of payroll procedures and policies.
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end payroll processes including year-end reconciliation and reporting.
