About The Position

The Payroll Specialist will handle and process all timekeeping and payroll functions. You’ll be working with like-minded peers to ensure each team member feels supported and informed. The Payroll Specialist will be working in the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department, to ensure the payroll transactions are completed timely and efficiently. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for entering employee data into the Human Resources Information System to ensure compliance with garnishment orders, medical support orders, federal/state/local tax requirements (multiple states), 401k contributions, payroll reporting, and other data as required.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in payroll processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and high attention to detail.
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Excel.
  • Experience working with Paycom, or any like payroll system.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Finance or like preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, maintain, and process information in the Paycom payroll system including compensation, time worked, garnishments, and more for 1300+ employees on a bi-weekly schedule.
  • Process payroll for both hourly and salary employees.
  • Find and correct any payroll-related issues.
  • Work with the operations team to process team bonuses, commissions, and incentives.
  • Verify and validate electronic time-keeping records.
  • Ensure payroll deductions such as taxes and garnishments are processed correctly.
  • Be the liaison to our workforce regarding compensation, taxes, and general payroll inquiries.
  • Work with our finance team on federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Communicate regularly with General Managers.
  • Retrieve and process any live check(s) that are issued.
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and the leadership team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
