About The Position

Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing payroll for temporary employees, maintaining payroll records, ensuring compliance with garnishment and support orders, and providing exceptional support to our branch teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems and software applications.
• Basic math and data entry proficiency.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

• Previous payroll, administrative, customer service, or related business experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive payroll information through timesheets, timeclocks, electronic systems, and other customer-approved documentation.
• Accurately enter payroll data, deductions, reimbursements, and adjustments.
• Verify the accuracy of submitted time and payroll information.
• Process direct deposit enrollments and updates.
• Review, process, and enter child support and medical support orders.
• Review, process, and administer wage garnishments and tax levies.
• Maintain payroll records to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Verify and validate payroll-related information and documentation.
• Provide payroll support and customer service to branch offices regarding payroll-related questions and concerns.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, system issues, and employee concerns.
• Answer incoming calls and provide payroll-related assistance.
• Participate in training sessions for field staff.
• Assist with special payroll projects and administrative duties as assigned.
• Perform additional responsibilities necessary to support the successful operation of Surge Staffing.
