Requirements

  • Experience in payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Proficiency in checking timesheet accuracy.
  • Experience in maintaining and updating employee records.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, taxes, and garnishments.
  • Experience in reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts.
  • Ability to generate payroll reports, budgets, and ad hoc reports.
  • Strong communication skills to answer employee questions.
  • Experience preparing payroll reports for financial and 401K audits.
  • Experience generating and communicating benefit reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including adjustments for raises, bonuses, and commission.
  • Check timesheets for accuracy and communicate with managers and HR Director as needed.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including new hires, terminations, deductions, benefits, salary changes, bonus pay, overtime, retro pay, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll, taxes, and garnishments.
  • Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve any discrepancies. Reconcile benefit-related accounts.
  • Generate payroll reports, budgets, and ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Answer employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and tax forms.
  • Prepare payroll reports for audits (financial & 401K audit).
  • Generate and communicate Benefit reports to Benefit Manager.
