About The Position

Egan Company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team in Champlin, MN. This role involves processing full-cycle weekly union payroll and reporting for various Egan business groups. The position offers a flexible, hybrid work arrangement, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years experience with high-volume in-house, full cycle, multi-state payroll is required
  • Proficiency in the use of standard office computer programs such as Google Suite, Word, and Excel
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction, as well as being comfortable in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize/organize daily workload

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year college degree in Accounting is preferred
  • 2-5 years experience in a related industry (Construction or Manufacturing) is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is preferred
  • Experience working in a paperless environment
  • Previous certified payroll experience
  • Exposure to process improvement ideas in an accounting setting is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly union payroll
  • Prepare monthly union benefit reporting
  • Weekly certified payroll reporting
  • Monthly utilization reporting
  • Prevailing wage reporting and compliance
  • Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Conduct the payroll portion of new field leader orientations
  • Employee setup
  • All other duties as assigned
