About The Position

Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a well-established Arkansas-based organization to identify a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting accurate and timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll processing experience, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively with both accounting and HR teams.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
• 2–5+ years of payroll processing experience
• Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals, including taxes, deductions, and compliance
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality

Nice To Haves

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Familiarity with payroll reporting and reconciliation

Responsibilities

• Process regular payroll cycles, including wages, benefits, deductions, and tax withholdings
• Maintain payroll records and ensure accuracy of employee data and updates
• Assist with payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Reconcile payroll-related accounts and support month-end close activities
• Partner with HR to process employee changes, including new hires, terminations, and compensation adjustments
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with payroll reporting and audits as needed
• Support ongoing process improvements within payroll operations
