About The Position

The Temporary Payroll Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and alignment of payroll‑related financial data across multiple internal and external systems. This role will focus on reconciling payroll information between the company's accounting system and payroll provider, validating payroll entries, and confirming accurate posting of accounts payable items to bank statements. The specialist plays a critical role in identifying discrepancies, resolving issues, and supporting clean financial reporting.

Requirements

  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • 10 years in accounting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and government payroll/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Compare payroll data recorded in the accounting system with payroll registers/reports from the payroll provider
  • Confirm that gross pay, deductions, employer taxes, and benefit contributions match across systems.
  • Reconcile AP transactions between the accounting system and corresponding bank statement transactions.
  • Prepare reconciliation worksheets, variance reports, and audit‑ready documentation.
  • Communicate findings and necessary corrective actions clearly and professionally.
