Role Description: Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s payroll process and ensuring employees are paid accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable payroll and wage laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing and California wage-and-hour requirements.
  • Experience with hourly employees and overtime calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of payroll experience is Highly Preferred.
  • Experience in the security industry is a Plus.
  • Payroll certification (CPP/FPC) is a Plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the biweekly payroll process from start to finish.
  • Review and approve employee timecards, overtime, PTO, sick time, and payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure accurate pay rates, deductions, bonuses, reimbursements, and other payroll changes.
  • Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.
  • Monitor California overtime, meal/rest break, and wage-and-hour requirements.
  • Respond to employee questions and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with HR, Operations, Accounting, and management regarding payroll matters.
  • Ensure payroll taxes, filings, W-2s, and other required reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records.
  • Prepare payroll and labor-cost reports for management.
  • Manage communication with the company’s payroll provider and resolve system issues.
  • Maintain payroll procedures and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper internal controls and authorization procedures are followed.
