About The Position

Join Trinity Property Consultants as a Payroll Lead where you’ll own end-to-end payroll operations while leading a small team in a fast-paced, multi-state environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience while partnering cross-functionally to improve processes and scale payroll operations as we grow. This role is initially onsite at the Irvine, CA headquarters and will transition to a hybrid schedule (one remote day per week) once fully onboarded. The company has been a leader in the multifamily industry for over 25 years and proudly manages properties for a nationally ranked NMHC’s Apartment Owner.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of full-cycle payroll processing and oversight.
  • Proven experience managing payroll for a population of 1,000+ with majority non-exempt employees.
  • Deep knowledge of multi-state wage and hour laws (overtime, meal breaks, and final pay).
  • Strong internal controls mindset: you think in reconciliations, audit trails, and SOPs.
  • Advanced, hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now or comparable enterprise payroll platforms and benefits administration systems.
  • Comfort operating across benefits administration.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High school diploma required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Mid-volume or higher payroll processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Mentor payroll team members, setting standards, reviewing work, and driving accountability.
  • Lead payroll reporting and audits.
  • Review timekeeping, commissions, and pay inputs; resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Manage employee payroll data in HRIS, including hires, changes, and terminations.
  • Oversee payroll adjustments, deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Respond to and resolve employee questions.
  • Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements.
  • Drive process improvements and maintain SOPs to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization through responsive support and clear communication.
