This role involves data entry, verification of timekeeping records, assisting with payroll reporting, and responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and maintains a high level of confidentiality. This position has an annual salary starting at $50,000 but has the potential for more, based on experience, etc.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of experience in payroll processing or administrative finance work.
- Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of wage and hour laws and payroll tax regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
Nice To Haves
- associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees on a bi-weekly or semi-monthly basis.
- Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and hours worked.
- Enter and update employee data in payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes.
- Calculate and process adjustments such as bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, direct deposit, and tax forms.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure secure storage of sensitive information.
- Support audits and generate payroll-related reports as requested.
- Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
