About The Position

viaPhoton is hiring a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own payroll and benefits administration in a fast-growing manufacturing environment. The role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time and that benefit programs operate smoothly and compliantly. Using Rippling, the specialist will serve as a bilingual resource for employee questions and work closely with Finance, supervisors, and frontline managers. The position is onsite in Naperville, Illinois, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Compensation is $75,000–$90,000 base salary plus an annual bonus.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• At least 3 years of hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience.
• Experience processing payroll and administering benefits in Rippling or a comparable platform such as ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or Paycom.
• Strong knowledge of wage-and-hour law, payroll tax, and benefits compliance, including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and ADA.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential information.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution with a large hourly workforce.
• CPP, FPC, or CEBS certification.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end U.S. payroll in Rippling for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime, bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payments.
• Review and approve time and attendance before each payroll close, partnering with supervisors to resolve exceptions and PTO discrepancies.
• Administer benefits in Rippling, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and 401(k), as well as enrollments, qualifying life events, and carrier connections.
• Reconcile payroll registers, tax liabilities, benefit invoices, and 401(k) contributions; partner with Finance on general ledger reporting, audits, and year-end processes.
• Maintain payroll and benefits compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Serve as the bilingual point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions.
