About The Position

The Payroll Administrator will ensure accurate processing of each of our three organizations’ payrolls, provide timely and accurate reporting, and perform payroll processing tasks for weekly and biweekly payrolls. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining the HRIS system and serves as a point of contact for employees to resolve pay-related queries and ensure accounts are reconciled and balanced. This position also supports the Human Resource team by handling new hire and termination paperwork, leave of absence administration and benefits administration. This individual must be highly organized and detail-oriented to ensure accurate and timely processing of payrolls and while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of end-to-end payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll compliance, taxes, wage/hour laws, garnishments and practices
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax processing
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now, or similar payroll systems
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, PivotTables)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Excellent mathematical and data entry skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Being bilingual is helpful but not required.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or CPS (Certified Payroll Specialist), is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and biweekly payrolls from start to finish for each of our three companies using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ensure accurate entry and updates for new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, benefits deductions and validate each adjustment.
  • Create and run reports for management such as payroll reports and review them for accuracy and compliance.
  • Handle wage garnishments, child support, and other deductions.
  • Stay up to date on payroll tax laws and regulatory changes.
  • Review payroll data and sources to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
  • Responsible for timely year-end and quarterly compliance reporting and tax documents (W-2) and participate in payroll, benefit and 401k audits as needed.
  • Administer benefits programs including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Review monthly benefit invoices for these changes.
  • Manage employee leave of absences, including answering employee questions regarding leave of absences and working with our third-party leave administrator regarding paperwork.
  • Address employees’ routine HR inquiries, such as navigating our HRIS system, company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain personnel files, payroll records and ensure confidentiality.
  • All other duties as assigned.
