About The Position

The Payroll Assistant will help and assist with the timely processing of weekly payrolls for multiple entities. This role with enter, maintain, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Accurate and meticulous in data entry.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of administrative experience.
  • Successful applicants must pass a drug screen and background check before beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Payroll processing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, compile, and enter payroll data.
  • Manage and maintain payroll records.
  • New Hire coordination with HR
  • Audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance.
  • Assists with the handling of payroll related projects including year-end preparations, documentation, employee tax issue and annual audits, preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes and deductions.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, adjustments, and other deductions.
  • Assists with issuing, or reissuing of physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors, adjustments, final pay, etc.
  • Processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
  • Helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Assists Payroll, Benefits & Insurance Manager with audits by providing records and documentation to auditors as needed.
  • Assists with addressing and resolving employee complaints relating to the payroll, timekeeping, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Prepares reports to relevant departments about payroll and expense as requested.
  • Works with company database programs to process payroll and verify information.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
