A growing, Houston-based professional services firm, G&A Partners is currently seeking a Payroll Assistant to join its team at the corporate office located in Houston, TX . Summary Accurately prints, packages, and ships confidential payroll information to client companies and employees utilizing client specific packaging instructions. Proactively ensures all check printing and shipping supplies are well stocked. Assists with ordering general supplies and coordinates special events. Assists the payroll department as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is rqquired.
  • Previous experience in shipping is desired but not required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office 365 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures packages are picked up by the appropriate shipping carrier as scheduled.
  • Tracks packages; effectively communicates with clients, payroll team members or other internal team members as required.
  • Provide progress reports to appropriate team members.
  • Delivers shipments to carrier hubs for after-hours pickup.
  • Request delivery fee credits for carrier shipping errors.
  • Coordinates and oversees courier deliveries or other ad hoc solutions for shipment issues.
  • Coordinates holiday office hour information to scheduled carriers.
  • Provide customer-oriented problem-solving solutions for late packages.
  • Keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Compiles statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to payroll shipping or other job functions.
  • Cross-checks and documents as required by departmental processes.
  • Stocks all shipping related supplies and reorder as necessary.
  • Ensures there is always a minimum of a two-month supply on hand.
  • Stocks and orders office supplies.
  • Performs end of day cross-checks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client and employee information.
  • Self-report 100% of all errors, issues, client dissatisfaction or perceived errors within 24 hours of occurrence to Manager and Director.
  • Coordinate cross-departmentally as-needed.
  • Document position processes and requirements.
  • Recommend procedural changes to the Payroll Manager and/or Director.
  • Coordinates special events, seminars, and training.
  • Provides feedback to shipping carriers and works to improve processes.
  • Complete professional development on an annual basis through coordination with the department manager.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
  • Assists the payroll department as needed.
