We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our HR team in Findlay, OH. This role is responsible for payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR analytics reporting for a multi-state workforce. You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager and play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a great employee experience.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of payroll, benefits, or HR analytics experience
  • Multi-state payroll experience required
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paycor strongly preferred)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed during payroll cycles and open enrollment

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for hourly employees and semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees
  • Support payroll operations for a multi-state workforce, ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Maintain payroll records, reconcile discrepancies, and manage deductions (garnishments, taxes, etc.)
  • Partner with the Payroll Manager on audits and year-end processes (W-2s, 1095-Cs)
  • Administer benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans
  • Support open enrollment and employee benefit changes
  • Assist employees with questions, enrollments, and claims issues
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and other regulations
  • Generate and analyze payroll and benefits data
  • Build reports and dashboards (headcount, turnover, labor costs, utilization)
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts
  • Ensure data accuracy across HRIS systems
