The Role The Benefits and Payroll Coordinator is responsible for corporate benefits administration and the processes of the domestic employee weekly and biweekly payroll, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments. Responsibilities include processing time reporting, annual payroll tax reports, employee garnishment and all regulatory requirements. Incumbent will assist the Corporate HR Director with benefits analytical and technical support in the delivery of benefit programs. The individual in this position is an integral member of the Human Resource Team and may assist in other areas/functions of the department as needed such as wellness initiatives, and employee communications.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of payroll processing and payroll tax reporting experience
  • 3-5 years benefits administration required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • High level of initiative and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Processes weekly, biweekly payroll and occasional manual checks using ADP.
  • Coordinates the annual W-2 tax reporting
  • Ensures SOX compliance in Payroll related matters
  • Implements and maintains garnishments
  • Prepares weekly payroll journal entries, monthly accruals and intercompany invoicing
  • Completes employment verifications
  • Administers timekeeping system including training on the system, password resets, etc.
  • Registers states for payroll taxes
  • Provides information for audits such as Worker’s Compensation, 401(k), etc.
  • Coordinates and responds to State Unemployment compensation requests.
  • Manages the invoice reconciliation and billing process for payment to benefit providers
  • Coordinates the annual open enrollment activities
  • Maintains the administrative procedures for the benefits processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations for both benefits and payroll, including timeliness and accuracy on all required filings.
  • Assists with the benefits renewal process, plan design recommendation, analytical support, etc.
  • Provides one on one support and counsel to employees regarding payroll and/or benefits
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc reports
