About The Position

The Hermitage Club is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Associate to join their team. This part-time, year-round role will support the Human Resources and Finance teams in processing payroll, administering employee benefits, and maintaining accurate employee records in Paycom. The ideal candidate will enjoy precision, take confidentiality seriously, and be a helpful resource for employees. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of all employees and supporting them through their benefits.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll and/or benefits administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with Paycom strongly preferred; experience with a comparable system (ADP, Paylocity, UKG, etc.) considered
  • Working knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and wage and hour rules
  • Experience with hourly, tipped, or seasonal workforces in hospitality, resort, or club environments is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and or Google Sheets
  • Clear, friendly communication skills and a service mindset
  • High level of discretion and integrity

Nice To Haves

  • FPC or CPP certification is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll in Paycom, including reviewing timecards, entering adjustments, and verifying hours, overtime, tips, gratuities, and seasonal bonuses.
  • Audit payroll reports before and after each run to catch and correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain employee pay rates, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit information.
  • Help manage the payroll impact of seasonal hiring and rehiring cycles, including onboarding and offboarding of seasonal staff.
  • Answer employee questions about pay, timekeeping, and pay stubs, and help employees navigate Paycom’s self-service tools.
  • Assist with year-end activities such as W-2 review and reconciliation.
  • Support benefits administration for eligible year-round employees, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and other programs.
  • Process new enrollments, qualifying life events, and terminations in Paycom and with carriers.
  • Assist with open enrollment preparation, communication, and data entry.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices against payroll deductions.
  • Support COBRA, ACA tracking, and leave-of-absence documentation as needed.
  • Keep employee records in Paycom accurate and up to date.
  • Run and prepare standard reports for HR, Finance, and department managers.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal and Vermont wage and hour, tax, and benefits regulations.
  • Handle all employee information with strict confidentiality.
