As a Payroll Analyst, you'll be responsible for the analysis and audit of payroll processing, reporting for payroll taxes, accounting analysis, meal and rest break compliance, and other strategic planning activities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or commensurate experience
  • 7+ years of Payroll experience with emphasis on payroll data auditing
  • Workday experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-state full cycle payroll experience in high volume fast paced environment
  • Canadian and union payroll experience a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • System/process literacy

Responsibilities

  • Payroll auditing for weekly and/or bi-weekly payrolls as well as off-cycle check runs; provide metrics, trending/analysis for various Payroll processes
  • Compliance – ensure payroll processes and payments meet federal, state/provincial and local laws and regulations; compile data and report on meal and rest break compliance; Provide reports to Accounting; HR; Tax and Finance monthly and as needed
  • Payroll system and data uploads/feeds - perform assessments of internal controls and work with Management to increase compliance by developing process improvement ideas; conduct monthly user access audits; maintain multiple holiday calendars within the time tracking system and other similar system related tasks
  • Union Compliance - monitor, report and ensure monthly union remittance timeliness; track union benefit expense; compile data for labor cost models as needed and compile data requests for union audits
  • Day to day payroll - Assist with process documentation and with employee payroll file maintenance; loading EIB’s and assisting with day-to-day processing needs.
  • Other duties assigned as needed
