About The Position

Horizon3 is seeking a detail-oriented, service-minded Payroll Administrator to support its U.S. and international payroll operations. This role will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, provide responsive support for payroll questions, and maintain high standards for data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to manage recurring payroll responsibilities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. This person will partner closely with the People and Finance teams and will have the opportunity to help strengthen scalable payroll and HR operations as the company grows.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of customer service, payroll, HR operations, accounting operations, or related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes and terminology, including taxes, deductions, garnishments, direct deposit, and payroll adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn payroll, HRIS, and other business systems quickly; advanced spreadsheet skills are a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent quality in a fast-paced environment.

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the regular processing of payroll for U.S. and international employees.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to paychecks, taxes, deductions, direct deposit, garnishments, and other payroll matters.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and high-quality customer service while resolving payroll questions and issues.
  • Review and audit payroll data, including hours worked, pay rates, deductions, and other employee information, to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Support payroll-related onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and protect data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Assist with payroll adjustments, corrections, off-cycle payments, and other special payroll requests as needed.
  • Help support compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international payroll requirements.
  • Partner with People and Finance teams to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 distribution and related employee communications.
  • Maintain organized documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and controls.
