The Payroll Administrator, Canada Payroll opportunity is a full-time role based in Turner Construction’s Toronto office. This position requires availability to work on-site or at the head office, Monday to Friday, for 40 hours per week, and will report to the local Payroll Manager. The role involves managing end-to-end Canadian payroll processing with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and timelines, requiring expertise in Workday and SAP SuccessFactors and a solid understanding of Canadian payroll regulations across all jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • PCP designation (required).
  • 5+ years of Canadian payroll experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday and SAP SuccessFactors (required).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation across all jurisdictions and CRA requirements.
  • Experience with payroll reconciliations, remittances, and year-end processing.
  • Proficiency with ROE Web and government reporting tools.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll using Workday and SAP SuccessFactors.
  • Post payroll GL entries in SAP and perform monthly payroll account reconciliations
  • Administer and remit statutory deductions, including Garnishments, benefits payments, CRA remittances, EHT, and WSIB/WCB.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related filings and payments, including union dues.
  • Complete year-end activities: T4/T4A preparation, reconciliation, and filings with government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with Canadian payroll legislation across all jurisdictions.
  • Audit payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Support system updates/testing and maintain payroll procedures and documentation.
  • Protect confidentiality of employee information and ensure data privacy.
  • Provide guidance to peers and support cross-functional teams (HR/Finance).
  • Handle ad-hoc payroll and reporting requests as required.
