About The Position

As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the Finance department in all facets of accounting including, but not limited to: Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contract Management, Expense Management, Cash Management, Budgeting, Forecasting, Taxes and Internal and External Audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of four (4) years in budgeting or finance
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll processing
• Prior experience with payroll software
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, labor laws, and tax compliance
• Proficient with payroll software
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Collaborative team player who embraces challenges

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Unanet preferred
• Federal Contracting experience preferred
• Understanding of Federal Government Contract Compliance Regulations found in the FAR, CAS, etc.
• DCAA audit experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time for a growing 150+ employee company.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations in a multi-state environment.
• Maintain and reconcile employee records, including hours worked and deductions.
• Collaborate with HR to update employee compensation and benefits information.
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management review.
• Manage payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Help with any other projects/processes within the Finance and Accounting Department.
