The Opportunity As the Payroll Accountant, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist in the preparation of weekly Union Payroll and monthly Union reporting in a timely and accurate manner
Coordinate weekly with various Black & Veatch departments to ensure end-to-end processing is completed
Works under frequent supervision
As a necessary aspect of pay administration functions, this position has access to confidential personnel records and pay information not otherwise available

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
• Typically 2+ years related experience
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing weekly Union Payrolls.
• Assist in completing and filing monthly Union reports.
• Coordinate with Human Resources and Construction Field Timekeeping to ensure accurate information is provided as it applies to the Recording of Time.
• Close communication with Management.
• Submits manual journal entries to the GL Accounting team.
• Work with IT to secure assistance with special reporting needs.
• Work closely with the Payroll team to complete monthly Union reporting.
• Assist fellow Payroll co-workers on Payroll processing tasks as time permits.
• Assists with additional Payroll Processing and special projects, as assigned
