About The Position

The Payroll/Accountant role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation while maintaining compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies. This position involves managing payroll operations, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports that support organizational decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with HR and finance teams to maintain employee records and resolve payroll discrepancies. Additionally, this role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure all tax filings and deductions are correctly handled. Ultimately, the Payroll/Accountant will contribute to the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the organization by managing payroll and accounting functions with precision and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and accounting, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in the United States.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Restaurant 365, ADP, or similar payroll platforms.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience with ADP, Toast, R365 and PayDayPortal
  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing and tax filings.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process and administer payroll for all employees accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and benefits deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with HR to verify employee attendance, leave balances, and new hire information to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Assist with general accounting duties such as accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of payroll taxes and related reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and other regulatory documents.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and tax-related questions in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll and accounting documentation.
