Payroll Accountant
About The Position
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a full-time Payroll Accountant to join its Accounting Team. The position prepares payroll checks, maintains payroll information, and performs general ledger and accounting functions for departments across the organization. The role works with department managers and Human Resources to ensure accurate payroll and timekeeping data. The position works the day shift from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A bachelor's degree in accounting is required. SAFE Training must be completed within one year and renewed annually. Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing tasks on a computer.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Payroll and accounting skills.
- Complete SAFE Training within one year and renew it annually.
Responsibilities
- Maintain employee payroll records.
- Coordinate with department managers on timecard approvals and extra compensation; review and edit timekeeping entries.
- Match W-4 forms and deduction authorizations and prepare year-end W-2s.
- Reconcile withholdings with vendor billing statements.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure the accuracy of payroll data.
- Prepare payroll checks and maintain payroll information.
- Perform general ledger and accounting functions for departments across the organization.
