About The Position

The Better Money Company is building a stablecoin clearinghouse to make stablecoins move like money, not a trading asset. They are looking for a Payments Engineer who is obsessed with building fast, reliable, better money movement systems. The company believes stablecoins are better money and will be the backbone of better payments. They see key structural problems hindering stablecoin adoption and are going to fix them by building a clearinghouse. They are a small scrappy team based in NYC, have raised $10M from a16z Crypto and other excellent partners, and are here to bring better money to the world.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building deeply with payment systems, financial infrastructure, and/or banking integrations
• You've scaled a payment system from 0-1 and ideally also taken it 1-10.
• Deep understanding of fiat payment rails (ACH, wires, RTP, etc.)
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems - you balance shipping quickly with building robust systems that can scale.
• You thrive in ambiguity - you view a lack of specificity as an opportunity for ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale components of our fiat money movement clearing system.
• Build integrations with banks, stablecoin issuers, custodians, and other partners.
• Design and build core product functionality to enable better stablecoin payments products.
