About The Position

O Bee Credit Union is hiring a Payment Services Specialist to join their team. This full-time role supports the Credit Union’s mission, members, and company culture by processing various payment transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to resolve inquiries, support member service, manage risk, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years in a customer service role.
  • At least two years of experience in a financial institution.
  • Must be able to pass a background and credit check.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and routine risk-based decisions.
  • Ability to follow established procedures while recognizing when a matter requires escalation.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned responsibilities and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of payment operations and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in payment services is preferred.
  • Experience with ACH, draft and wire processing, transaction adjustment and payments research is preferred.
  • Previous Symitar experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process consumer and business ACH files, including notifications of change, disputes, and returns.
  • Assist team members and members with payment-related inquiries.
  • Assist and process unauthorized or stop payments.
  • Process daily check files, returned check files, exceptions and check adjustments.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing wire transfer processes, returns, and conduct research as necessary.
  • Process adjustments for shared branching transactions.
  • Assist with account charge offs, debit and credit exceptions and research.
  • Complete quality control tasks and account file maintenance reporting.
  • Process incoming and outgoing bill payment exceptions.
  • Provide research, support and collaboration with Team Members in pursuit of world class Member service.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Credit Union operations, policies, procedures, products and services.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations including NACHA rules, Regulation E, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and privacy policies, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
