The Payment Posting Coordinator will be responsible for accurately and promptly posting insurance and patient payments, denials, adjustments, and deposits. This role involves processing electronic payment files (835/ERA), resolving posting or payer file issues, and applying EOB payments, contractual adjustments, deductibles, copays, and rejection codes to patient accounts. Additionally, the coordinator will research missing or unidentified payments, recoupments, and credit balances to ensure proper resolution and reconciliation, while maintaining logs, spreadsheets, and productivity/quality standards to support accurate financial recordkeeping.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred or two years of Medical Billing or Payment Posting Experience
  • Working knowledge of EOB’s, EFT’s and ERA’s
  • Knowledge of Managed Care Contracts, Medicare, and Medicaid
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Posts insurance and patient payments, denials, adjustments, and deposits accurately and on time.
  • Processes electronic payment files (835/ERA) and resolves any posting or payer file issues.
  • Applies EOB payments, contractual adjustments, deductibles, copays, and rejection codes to patient accounts.
  • Researches missing or unidentified payments, recoupments, and credit balances to ensure proper resolution and reconciliation.
  • Maintains logs, spreadsheets, and productivity/quality standards while supporting accurate financial recordkeeping.
