About The Position

Join Consumers Credit Union (CCU) as a temporary employee for a 6-month assignment working as a Payment Mail Representative. This assignment is perfect for a detail-oriented individual that is looking to earn some extra income from September through February. The work will be completed at our Lake Forest corporate office. This is a 40 hour per week project; Monday – Friday onsite during regular business hours (8 AM - 5 PM). As a Payment Mail Representative, you’ll be responsible for the timely processing of incoming mail including applying loan payments, payoff posting, and share deposits to member accounts utilizing the core financial system. You’ll be responsible for trouble-shooting payments by working with internal resources to identify appropriate account placement and following procedures to help prevent fraud and potential losses to the Credit Union. CCU is a dynamic company that implements process improvements and changes frequently so the ideal candidate will be adaptable to change and will be able to steadily perform and react in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required + minimum of 18 years old
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use critical thinking skills, research skills, and stay organized
• High attention to detail - you must be a person that pays close attention to numbers and can identify errors in data!
• Positive attitude, helpful, and team-oriented focused

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years' experience in Clerical, Administrative or Payments related

Responsibilities

• Processes payments and share deposits within level of authority in expected turnaround time.
• Refers issues beyond level of authority to supervisor along with recommendations for resolution.
• Works with internal resources throughout the credit union to determine resolution of payments and processes non-payment requests such as subordination, payoff, or insurance requests.
• Scans and archives payment documentation in appropriate online systems as well as in physical storage location.
• Process member and non-member payment adjustments daily.
• Assists with inquiries that come from internal departments amongst different payment channels.
• Balances cash drawer and daily accounts transactions.
