Kinsley is seeking self-motivated, dependable, hard-working Paving Operators/ Paving Laborers and Concrete Finishers to join our paving Utilities patching crews. This position is based out of our Ephrata, PA Office. A successful candidate should be able to work in a crew environment and have a general knowledge of paving and patching.

Requirements

This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical certification throughout employment.
Ability to work in a crew-based environment.
Previous experience operation asphalt pavers or other heavy equipment such as rollers, skid steers and graders).
Punctuality and dependability are required, must have transportation to get to assigned job sites.
Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

Previous asphalt paving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate asphalt pavers, rollers and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Preform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
Read and interpret plans, grades and job specifications.
Assist with set up and break down of paving equipment as needed.
Help maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
Support other crew members during paving operations when required.
Shovel and lute asphalt.
Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of paving.
Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Check the forms that hold the concrete to see that they are properly constructed.
Set the forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch, depth, and aligned accurately.
Install reinforcing rebar or mesh wire to strengthen the concrete.
Spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand, or power screed and float.
Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affects the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process to ensure a durable, smooth and uniform finish.
Produce rough concrete surface using broom.
Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
Signal truck driver to position truck to facilitate pouring concrete and move chute to direct concrete.
Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
