Blythe Development is a licensed general contractor specializing in site work, road construction, and golf course construction in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Blythe Development's operations include clearing, grading, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, waterline, curb and gutter, sidewalk, concrete paving, retaining walls, culverts, bridges, stone base, and asphalt paving. Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company provides asphalt services for Blythe Development Co. Blythe Development employs over 900 employees, enabling them to self-perform 80% of site groundwork. A Concrete Finisher performs tasks involving strenuous physical labor on highway and heavy construction projects. This role may involve operating a variety of hand and power tools, cleaning and preparing sites, setting forms, and spreading, leveling, and smoothing concrete. The Finisher must maintain a clean and secure job site, ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and report any problems to a Supervisor.

Requirements

• Regularly works near moving machinery/tools which requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination.
• Must be able to move quickly and have excellent stamina.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects (over 50 lbs.).
• Must use legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb a ladder.
• Experience setting string line for concrete.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving strenuous physical labor on highway and heavy construction projects.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Clean and prepare sites.
• Set forms.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete.
• Maintain a clean and secure job site (pick up tools/equipment) to eliminate potential hazards.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Bring any problems to the attention of a Supervisor.
