About The Position

Soukup Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Foreman to lead its asphalt paving operations in Sioux Falls and eastern South Dakota. The role involves leading a paving crew and coordinating personnel, equipment, trucking, and materials to complete work safely, efficiently, and to project specifications. The foreman will monitor production and quality, maintain jobsite safety and organization, communicate with project teams, develop crew members, and keep accurate production records and job documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of asphalt paving or related heavy civil construction experience.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving equipment, methods, and quality standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and leading by example.

Nice To Haves

• Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily asphalt paving crew operations.
• Plan and organize personnel, equipment, trucking, and material needs.
• Ensure paving work meets project specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor production, material usage, and crew efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, productive, and organized jobsite.
• Communicate with Superintendents, Project Managers, and other departments.
• Train and develop crew members while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Maintain accurate daily production records and job documentation.
