About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Equipment Operators with previous paving experience for their Construction Team in Staunton, VA. Candidates will need to be familiar with and experienced in operating equipment for asphalt paving. Rogers Group will also consider providing training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

Requirements

• An uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Ability to properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Valid Drivers License required.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, overtime and weekends, as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
• Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Follow directions from Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
• Operate equipment such as: Rake/Lute/Shovel, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Broom, Asphalt Roller, Asphalt Screws/Screed, Paver, Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck (CDL required), Water Truck (CDL required).
