About The Position

Rogers Group seeks motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Equipment Operators with previous paving experience for our Construction Team in Staunton, VA. Candidates for this position will need to be familiar with and experienced in operating equipment for asphalt paving, such as: Rake/Lute/Shovel, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Broom, Asphalt Roller, Asphalt Screws/Screed, Paver, Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck (CDL required), Water Truck (CDL required). Rogers Group will also consider providing training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn.

Requirements

• An uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Valid Drivers License required.
• Previous paving experience is preferred.
• Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.
• Familiarity with and experience in operating equipment for asphalt paving, such as: Rake/Lute/Shovel, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Broom, Asphalt Roller, Asphalt Screws/Screed, Paver, Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck (CDL required), Water Truck (CDL required).

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
• Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
• Ability to properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
• Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Follow directions from Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
