This position is responsible to safely operate screed to place bituminous asphalt mix to proper depth, width and smoothness per contract specifications. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.

Requirements

  • Ability to hold and maintain a driver's license in accordance with all state regulations.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  • Safely and properly perform maintenance on paving
  • Safely and properly operate adjusting mechanism of paving machine.

  • Heat screed at beginning of
  • Observes distribution of paving material along screed and controls direction of

  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).
  • Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, ).
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation
  • Performs other duties as assigned
