About The Position

EJ is seeking a Pattern Maker Apprentice at our Pattern Shop Facility in East Jordan, MI. This role supports and assists the sales function. EJ is a leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of access solutions for water, sewer, drainage, telecommunications, and utility networks. Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Ability to read, comprehend, and write instructions, correspondence and memos.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and/or group situations to other employees in the department or organization if/when required.
Knowledge of and ability to apply basic math skills, including some algebra, geometry, and trigonometry functions.
Certificate of completion for Patternmaker Apprenticeship program from Technical Trade School or Correspondence School. East Jordan Pattern Shop to provide Patternmaker Apprenticeship training if necessary.

Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret drawings/diagrams/prints, and daily work instructions.
Ability to operate various manual and CNC machinery.
Ability to proficiently use micrometers, Vernier scales, and various other measuring devices.
Ability to use/operate various power and/or hand tools as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and fellow employees.
Ability to perform basic welding operations on steel, aluminum, and cast iron.
