Serves as a patrol deputy on an assigned shift, responding to and conducting investigations for felony, misdemeanor, accident, and ordinance violations. The role involves making arrests, issuing citations, and providing effective law enforcement services within an assigned area. Additionally, the position requires providing emergency medical aid and fire department assistance, ensuring accurate and timely report preparation, and collecting/preserving evidence according to procedures. The deputy will also be responsible for providing clear and accurate court testimony, attending required training, and maintaining technical equipment certifications. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating acceptable skill levels in operating and caring for department vehicles and equipment, as well as proficient use and care of firearms. The position demands adequate mental and physical conditioning to handle stressful, hazardous, and dangerous situations. When unsupervised, the deputy must perform independently under emergency conditions, rapidly and objectively analyzing situations to achieve fair resolutions while remaining courteous and tactful. The role also includes completing special projects and assignments as requested, and performing other related duties as assigned.
