About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Patient Visit Specialist - Oncology to join their team at the Ann Arbor Campus. This role is responsible for providing a high level of support and customer service to all patients and guests of the Cancer Center. The specialist will guide patients unfamiliar with the center to their destinations and ensure a smooth hand-off to staff. They will also work directly with providers to coordinate patient care. Key responsibilities include acting as a point of contact for scheduling inquiries, verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations, scheduling and managing appointments, collecting payments, supporting billing processes, scheduling research patients according to protocols, and maintaining patient records to support daily office operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
2 years of experience in a medical or physician office or comparable healthcare environment.

Nice To Haves

Coursework in insurance/billing, medical practice education or seminars are all preferred.

Responsibilities

Acts as a point of contact for providers and staff with any patient scheduling questions or concerns.
Obtains insurance verification and secures authorization required for services provided at the Cancer Center.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
Schedules research patient per research protocol.
Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
