About The Position

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Patient Transporter transports patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. The Patient Transporter transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment. They assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers. The Patient Transporter also delivers equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department and assists staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue. They greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Or attending High School
• CPR “HeartSaver” Required by the end of orientation.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Ability to lift and transport patients.
• Ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing and pulling.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in the health care field preferred.
