The Patient Transporter is an integral part of the patient care team providing prompt, courteous, customer-focused service to the patients, visitors, and coworkers of Boston Medical Center. The Patient Transporter is responsible for patient transport within the hospital and for miscellaneous functions as well. He/she contributes to service excellence by fostering collaboration among and between team members as well as other ancillary departments. Working at Boston Medical Center is more than a job. Requirements

  • High diploma or GED preferred
  • Requires heavy lifting and pushing, pulling and standing.
  • Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate clearly to interact appropriately with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.
  • Work requires demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write English.
  • Work requires ability to follow instructions, work independently and efficiently to complete assigned work.
  • Requires 6-12 months of experience in customer service or hospital experience
  • Obtaining and the maintenance of CPR preferred
