Patient Transporter (Per Diem, Variable Shift)
About The Position
Centered in the heart of Montebello, Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello has a 70-year history of providing quality healthcare to the community. We are comprised of a 192-bed hospital, wound care medical office and surgical and laboratory services. The greater Los Angeles area is known for its art, rich culture, numerous sports teams and world-renowned dining. There is something for everyone in this culturally diverse community. Maintains responsibility for the transportation of patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility. Greets and assists patients and visitors as directed.
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required
Nice To Haves
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains equipment, such as wheelchairs and gurneys and ensures availability for next use.
- Performs other duties as requested by Nursing Supervisor to assist with the smooth workflow of the department.
- Collects, logs and/or returns "lost and found" items and patients' belongings.
- Responds to hospital code and other emergency responses and situations as trained.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
