About The Position

Transports patients and equipment throughout the facility. The position supports patient transfers and repositioning, transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair, and may transport patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment. It also involves assisting with vehicle transfers, directing patients and visitors, delivering equipment, and transporting deceased patients to the morgue.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is required within 30 days of hire; the posting specifies American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with lifting and repositioning patients when needed.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfers to or from wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair to designated locations, including patients using oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide information and directions.
• Deliver equipment to requesting staff or departments.
• Assist staff with removing deceased patients from units and transporting them to the morgue.
