About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role involves safely transporting patients/residents to and from their inpatient/resident beds to other areas and ancillary departments, and retrieving medical records, prescriptions, and other clinical documentation. The position requires removing and replacing medical devices, and lifting or assisting in lifting patients/residents to gurneys, wheelchairs, or other devices. Additionally, the transporter will inspect and perform minor maintenance on transportation tools and devices, document and request other maintenance as needed, and comply with enterprise guidelines and policies for health, safety, and security. Familiarity with medical terms and certain medical equipment is necessary. Responsibilities may also include changing or transporting linens, assisting in transporting specimens, documents, or patient/resident possessions, and assisting with discharge processing of inpatient/resident rooms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six weeks of employment and must be maintained.
  • If working in North Dakota, required to register with the North Dakota Department of Health as a nursing aide within four months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA) preferred.
  • Registered with the North Dakota Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Aide preferred.

Responsibilities
