About The Position
Transports and assists patients throughout the medical center and may transport patients to and from appointments at the medical center. The position is per diem/casual, non-exempt, and based at ABSMC-Ashby Campus. Shifts and schedules are varied, with 8-hour shift hours and variable days. Weekend work is required every other weekend or every weekend. The position is union represented and offers no benefits according to the posting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience is accepted in lieu of the required diploma.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification.
- Strong communication skills for frequent and challenging interactions with physicians, patients, and families.
- Patience and compassion.
- Ability to lift and position patients properly using best practices.
- Customer-focused approach and ability to promote services positively.
- Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, tolerate frequent interruptions, and work well under pressure.

- Previous working experience in a health care environment.
