About The Position
Saint Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City is seeking a Patient Transporter to join their team. The Service Associate functions as a Patient Transporter who will move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons, utilizing manual or computerized job assignments. This role requires good communication with nursing clinical staff, recognizing when to ask for help, and maintaining the integrity of patient's tubes, lines, and collection devices. The transporter will also move patient valuables and equipment.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross certification.
Nice To Haves
- Good communication with the nursing clinical staff is required.
- Recognize when they need to ask for help or continued guidance.
Responsibilities
- Move patients by wheelchair or car throughout the hospital for various reasons.
- Utilize infection prevention techniques, patient transfer techniques, and knowledge of appropriate routes to assure patients are safely and efficiently moved.
- Maintain and protect the integrity of patient's tubes, lines, and collection devices.
- Move patient valuables and equipment.
