About The Position

The Patient Transporter transports patients and equipment throughout the facility. The role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. No prior work experience is required. New hires must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. This is a per-diem days position in Hollywood, Florida.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification required within 30 days of hire; acceptable listed credentials include American Heart Association BLS eCard or non-eCard certification.
• Critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• No prior work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or neuro chair to designated locations, including patients using oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors, and other equipment.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide information and directions.
• Deliver equipment to requesting staff or departments.
• Assist staff with removing deceased bodies from units and transporting them to the morgue.
• Assist staff with patient lift assistance and repositioning when needed.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfers to or from wheelchairs or stretchers.
